ARTISTIC ILLUMINATION OF THE ENTRANCE OF SAMAYA AT KA YO

Gozzilah had fun highlighting the Samaya universe in an offbeat photo shoot to celebrate the brand's entry into the portfolio of Swedish concept store KA YO, both in-store and online. Gozzilah drew inspiration from Samaya's patterns and colors to create her looks, while Jimmy Söber created the set for the shoot, inspired by nature and the great outdoors. Olivia Huerta Bratteng then captured the atmosphere beautifully. Discover their testimonies on this project.

I am Gozzilah, half human, half mountain goat!

N.gyyah is a genius when it comes to collecting and sculpting natural material. Beauty is everywhere: you just have to see it! We were like a finger pointing towards this hidden beauty, assembling and composing new patterns with existing ones.

Nature invited herself inside the tent, thrived on her, married her! These little houses are no longer barriers against nature, they are spaceships that travel with it into the great unknown.

JIMMY AND OLIVIA'S INTERVIEW

Who are you ?

Jimmy Söber : My name is Jimmy Söber and I live in the countryside near Stockholm. I am an independent artistic creator and designer, and for this project, I created the scenography.

Olivia Huerta Bratteng : My name is Olivia Huerta Bratteng. I am a photographer and nature lover! When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking, climbing, surfing and skiing.

How would you describe the concept of this shoot?

OHB : It's a lot of Jimmy's vision. It was about paying homage to nature. We created our own little world in the studio inspired by the mystical energy of the forest. To compose the decor, Jimmy went looking directly into nature. He brought back leaves, tree branches, moss, to reconstruct a small forest inside the studio and create this particular atmosphere. Capturing such a unique landscape was truly inspirational to me.

JS : Thanks Olivia. It was the first time that I designed a set specifically for a photo shoot, and not for an exhibition. It was very inspiring to imagine my decor and to build it so that it could be transposed and enhanced through photography. I wanted to create an environment where anything can happen and where there are no limits. I wasn't sure exactly what form it would take, so there was some exploration along the way to arrive at the end result. A scenography which, I hope, will inspire all kinds of explorations, because you never know what you may find or where you may end up.

As artists, what message would you like to convey through this shoot?

JS : For me, it's about exploration and allowing you to go places and have experiences that you've never had before. Whether it's weathering the elements in top-of-the-line gear and reaching new places or joining other creative people to create something you couldn't have done alone, curiosity and the human need to explore are at the heart of this project. To represent all this, we made this shoot with our guts and our feelings.

OHB : Exactly. For me, it was essential to focus on every detail, so that people could see and feel, through my photography, the mood and the atmosphere that Jimmy created and in which we were surrounded by the colors of the landscape and the smell of moss and leaves floating around us. I want to help people see things in a different way. I want to convey how amazing the little things in nature are and make more people want to go out and sleep outside.
